D. Basu & Co., Chartered Accountants, reviewed the accompanying unaudited financial results of Assam Carbon Products Limited for the quarter ended June 30, 2024. The statement is the responsibility of the Company's Management and was approved by the Board of Directors on August 9, 2024. Their review was conducted in accordance with the Standard on Review Engagement (SRE) 2410 issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The review was limited to inquiries and analytical procedures and does not constitute an audit; therefore, no audit opinion is expressed. Based on the review, nothing came to the auditor's attention that would suggest the financial results do not comply with applicable accounting standards, recognized practices and policies, and the disclosure requirements of Regulation 33 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, or that they contain any material misstatement. The review report is dated August 9, 2024, and signed by Ashis Ranjan Maitra, a partner of D. Basu & Company, with Firm's Registration No. 301111E and Membership No. 056520, UDIN: 24056520BKETBA1296.
Standalone Financial Results:
The standalone unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2024, show total income of ₹1,593 Lacs compared to ₹2,005 Lacs for the quarter ended March 31, 2024 (Audited) and ₹1,507 Lacs for the quarter ended June 30, 2023 (Unaudited). Total income for the year ended March 31, 2024 (Audited) was ₹6,432 Lacs.
Key expenditure items include cost of materials consumed at ₹527 Lacs, employee benefit expenses at ₹301 Lacs, energy consumption at ₹121 Lacs, depreciation and amortization expense at ₹30 Lacs, and other expenses at ₹329 Lacs resulting in a total expenditure of ₹1,335 Lacs. Finance cost was ₹5 Lacs. The profit before tax for the quarter ended June 30, 2024 was ₹258 Lacs. After deducting tax expense of ₹86 Lacs, the net profit was ₹172 Lacs.
Other comprehensive income, net of income tax, had a net effect of ₹3 Lacs. Total comprehensive income for the period was ₹172 Lacs for the quarter ended June 30, 2024 compared to ₹182 Lacs for the quarter ended March 31, 2024 and ₹167 Lacs for the quarter ended June 30, 2023. The paid-up equity share capital is ₹276 Lacs. Basic and diluted earnings per share of ₹10 each was ₹6.26 (not annualised) for the quarter ended June 30, 2024.
The financial results were reviewed by the Audit Committee and approved by the Board of Directors on August 9, 2024, and have been prepared in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS). Figures have been regrouped or rearranged wherever necessary and rounded off to the nearest Lacs/rupees.
